information. NAME Akari. CANON Pokémon Legends Arceus. AGE Never explicitly given, but someone does eyeball her as being "15 or so." I'm fine with playing Akari anywhere between 15 to 24 and will set her age to 19 by default, since Pokémon Legends Arceus has some mature themes for the series that are more appropriate for a slightly older protagonist, in my opinion. SEX/GENDER F / F. HEIGHT 4'11" / 150cm. BASIC INFO Teenage girl on a first-name basis with God. Soft, warm, and patient to a fault, Akari was ostensibly living in a modern-day Pokémon timeline (possibly on vacation in Alola) when she was unceremoniously yanked to a different timeline by Arceus to help calm the troubled Hisui region. As one of the officers of the Galaxy Team's Survey Corps, Akari's job is to catch Pokémon, assist with the Galaxy Team's research, and help the people of the Hisui region settle into the wild frontier. Akari finds it genuinely difficult to resist helping anyone in need, no matter how poorly they've treated her; this, coupled with a modest outward exterior, may make it seem as though she's frankly just an unassertive doormat who can't say no to anybody. But all patience eventually finds its end, even Akari's — and when she's well and truly riled, there's a reason that she is, effectively, Arceus's world-traveling chosen one. By her own assertion, she's better at catching and raising Pokémon than battling, but she's also a lot more capable than she claims. ic permissions. PLATONIC CONTACT Sure! She might be flustered if it's coming from someone she has a bit of a crush on, but in general, Akari's pretty cuddly. SHIPPING I'm open to any ships that make sense for Akari — fully OTA, M/F and F/F both welcome — but I don't intend to angle for anything, and we can just see what develops organically! My favorite ship is Volo/Akari, either in the "I can fix him" soft fluffy redemption type of way, or in a more genuinely abusive "he's an irredeemable megalomaniac and she keeps forgiving him for it" dynamic; that being said, if you're not into it, I'm fine with writing non-ship content with Volo too. Other favorite ships include Cogita/Akari and Cynthia/Akari; I'm also pretty open to Adaman/Akari. SMUT Sure thing! Again, very open to smut here, though I'd prefer it if we tagged a few times beforehand so I can get a general sense of the dynamic. I don't keep a conventional kinklist but will work things out with you OOCly and ICly as needed. Also fine with discussing sexual themes ICly; despite her outward veneer of virtue, she's not terribly ignorant, and misfires and sexual questions are fair game. PHYSICAL VIOLENCE I'm pretty okay with this — she gets beat up a fair bit in her own canon, oftentimes in ways that are implied to hospitalize adults. I love gen fluffy Pokémon talk just as much as I love serious, in-depth emotional dives into all the problematic shit that happens in Legends Arceus. I'd like to play with Hisui-Sinnoh connections of all kinds — something like Cynthia mistaking Akari for Dawn, for example — but because it wouldn't be possible to play off other Pokémon characters if Hisui stayed in the distant past, I usually write with the idea that Hisui is just a little-known region of its own, or a wild and dangerous part of Sinnoh. I'm also pretty happy to work out cross-canon shenanigans, particularly since Akari is a time traveler who can isekai herself anywhere. OTHER Most of the flavor for Akari's personality comes from her characterization in Pokémon Masters, mixed with her general portrayal in fandom. The Masters canon has firmly established her as the Survey Corps member and not the Legends Arceus protagonist, however, so I've decided to continue playing her primarily from her general fandom portrayal. (There is... a huge fandom around Volo/Akari...) If you played with me prior to November 2023, please note that I've decided to bring her characterization slightly more in line with how she is in Masters, but I still prefer to play her as the protagonist than as the Survey Corps member. Additionally, I personally prefer the interpretation that Akari and Dawn are not the same person! I'm definitely willing to play with the Hikari/Akari connection, but since that relationship only exists cross-lingually I don't put much stock in it (Akari's Japanese name is Shou). I'd like to roll with a headcanon that Akari is probably a distant relative of Dawn's, and the two are frequently mistaken for each other. If you actually put them in the same room, however, they're more obviously different; Akari's eyes are more of a blue-grey color, and her hair is a bit more blue-black as well. I am generally a slow RPer, as a word of warning. While I can turn tags around in a day or two sometimes, you can more often expect me to take anywhere between 1-2 weeks for a tag.
